This animation is a CG recreation of the classic Twlight Zone television series introduction from the 5th and 6th seasons. I am a huge fan of the Twilight Zone and thought I would see what it would have been like had the show been created with today's technology. However, unlike in the Twilight Zone movie, I did not want to alter the content, look, or feel of the introduction that everyone knows so well.
I modeled the key elements of the intro in LightWave 3D and animated them by watching the 30-second intro frame by frame, imitating the existing motions of the objects. I also retained the black-and-white quality of the intro. The forming of the words "Twilight Zone" at the end of the clip was done by reversing a bomb explosion effect on the text in 3D Studio MAX.
