While the writer of the email Ricky read and Ricky are entitled to their opinions....I would seriously consider turning down the stay for a number of reasons...
1. You're pretty much blowing off an entire day at whatever park you were at. You have to leave the park and get a packed bag and then they parade you around.
2. If I'm staying in a Deluxe Resort or as with us DVC.....I've lost out on the money/points used for that night's stay at our resort. DVC points are precious and to give one night away especially if it's during a peak or near-peak time would cause me to consider not taking the stay.
These are my top reasons....seriously...if they would get my bags for me and if I didn't have to be paraded around as "royalty"...if I could just stay in the room or if not just let me take pictures of the suite I'd be fine. If they would reimburse my account for the lost points, I'd be fine. We use a 2 BR Villa...to toss away a night's stay worth over $500 per night doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
When I heard the podcast how shocked Ricky was...I'm not seeing the problem. |

For me it's all about the stories I'd be able to tell my friends when I got back. Not the money / points or that kind of thing. Although I definitely can understand your points.
Of course, I'm a 32 year old single guy who tries to stay at a $39 dive when I'm in Orlando. For an entire week, I'd pack 1 duffel of clothes, and my laptop. So I couldn't see any situation where I'd pass that honor up, and to be in a parade again (our band played in one back in high school) Sweetness. |

I can see why some would turn it down.
Besides the reasons Tigger posted...
Maybe they're there with family/friends and don't want to give up that time.
Maybe they are leaving that day.
Maybe they have something else very special and important planned. After all, if they made an ADR that required a cc guarantee, Disney is going to charge them as a no-show (yes, I'm being a "bit" facetious there).
Maybe they just don't want all the attention that goes along with it.
Or maybe all they really want is some time to experience the park.
I'm not saying nobody SHOULDN'T want to stay there. It's just that I can understand how it would get turned down sometimes. |

IF they ever make this room available to the public for booking, it will definitely cost well over $500 per night.
They currently list the value at $587 per night, but I bet that it will go for over $1k per night if not more - if they ever open it up for booking.

| I can't really see why someone would turn it down! It's a once in a life time experience! |

| I would pay $1,000 to stay in that room for a day/night. I wouldn't leave. It's worth the money just to stare out the windows into the park. |

Well, actually, the Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Resort Paris is practically inside the main park. So if your lucky enough, you get a room looking right out into Main Street, & Sleeping Beauty Castle. |

| I would give my right leg for an opportunity to stay in the castle. And being paraded around I would do the Miss America Wave (that's my dream). |

I'm afraid it's not about luck. They are called "Castle" rooms and you have to pay extra! All concierge rooms face into the park as well. Standard rooms usually face out towards the gardens of the entrance area. From some you can actually see the railway station of Marne la Vallee! The hotel is built over the entrance gates of the park so on Main Street Station side it is IN the park:

| When I first went to DLRP we had a room that faced the park...it was too low to see the entire park, but it was nice to look out the window and see the lights on Main Street at night...the Park used to close at 6pm, so we spent nights at the Disney Village and watching Disney films in French |
