365 Adventures in 2011: Day 31 – Making more space in my Tomorrowland
Our upstairs bonus room in our house was once a Tomorrowland-inspired place for posters, collectibles, games, and toys. But over the last 6 or so years of living in this house, that room has accumulated more and more stuff, with not enough space to accommodate all of it. So it became a cluttered mess, rather than a fun room. Now after a recent trip to IKEA, Michelle and I are adding a bunch of new shelving and display units to the room and rearranging it to fit all our new stuff – and hopefully more stuff in the future. We’re always buying stuff.
So here’s the “before” photo, taken after only a couple posters and a shelf were removed from a wall:
I’ll post an in-progress image or two in the coming days and eventually an “after” shot whenever we complete the project.
And yes, that’s a life-size Sulley from Monsters, Inc. We have a life-size Mike too.
TweetVideo from inside the first Captain EO reopening showing
Here’s yet another Captain EO-related post. This time it’s a video from inside the theater just before the first official showing of the 3D film began, followed by reactions outside the theater.
I’ll be posting a bit more video from the Disneyland reopening in the coming days including an exclusive interview with Walt Disney Imagineer Tony Baxter.
Thanks again to Jeremiah Daws for covering this event for us.
TweetOfficial Disney photos from the Captain EO reopening at Disneyland
Here’s a great set of official photos released by Disney from this morning’s reopening of “Captain EO” in Tomorrowland at Disneyland.

“Captain EO” the classic musical spectacular that thrilled Disneyland Park guests from 1986 – 1997 is now open at Disneyland park. The attraction’s return to Tomorrowland provides new audiences the opportunity to experience the original 3D production for the very first time, as well as a nostalgic look back for longtime fans wanting to see “The King of Pop” in a rare performance created for the big-screen.
