A holiday divided: Pomplamoose does Hyundai Christmas commercials and the Internet erupts in flames
Christmas time has come and gone for 2010 and I’m sure plenty of us spent the majority of our vacation plopped on a couch watching television and generally spacing out. I sure did.
Well, amidst the reruns and obligatory Christmas specials (Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown!) some new entertainment emerged in the form of Hyundai car commercials featuring catchy renditions of classic Christmas songs. And if you watched more than 10 minutes of TV this holiday season, you likely saw at least one of these ads, as Hyundai seemed to be airing them during almost every commercial break on every station.

Even Michael Jackson’s passing hasn’t stopped him from releasing new music. A new Michael Jackson song entitled “This Is It” premiered at MichaelJackson.com last night (October 12) at midnight. It is the title track for Jackson’s upcoming double-album of the same name.

The new song and “This Is It” album are set to be released on October 27 and are available to pre-order now for just $9.99. There are also some collector’s versions being released, though those are more expensive.
While the official web site doesn’t allow you to download the song, there are many sites that have found ways around that. I won’t link to them here, but if you must own the song now, Google should be able to help you with that. There are even a few different versions of it floating around.

TweetTHURSDAY THEME PARK: American Idol Experience Performances by David Cook and Carrie Underwood
Yes, it’s another Thursday Theme Park post on a Friday, but I have a good excuse. I spent nearly 12 hours at the American Idol Experience media event yesterday and definitely didn’t have it in me to post something worthwhile when I got home. I’ll have MUCH more on this event in the coming days, but for now I bring you the three musical performances of the night.
During the American Idol Experience finale show, previous American Idol winners David Cook and Carrie Underwood performed separately and together. Ryan Seacrest was also on hand to host parts of the show.
Now, I’m not a fan of David Cook or Carrie Underwood but they both sounded excellent. The sound system in the newly-renovated theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios sounded better than 99% of concerts that I’ve attended (and I’ve been to a LOT of concerts over the years).
The videos below were shot in high-definition, though the HD versions are not quite available yet. However, the audio in these videos is binaural, so put on your headphones and enjoy! They look and sound GREAT.
