MarketWatch on Tuesday posted a correction to earlier stories that appeared in several online news reports saying Apple Inc.’s Steve Jobs put in an appearance at the Walt Disney Co. shareholders meeting.

Jobs, who is on a health-related leave of absence from Cupertino-based Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), was re-elected to the Disney board, reports said.

Earlier reports said Jobs attended the meeting.

Jobs did not attend Apple’s shareholder meeting earlier this year, citing health issues. A cancer survivor, Jobs in January took a leave to address health issues that have drawn heavy investor interest.

Disney Chairman John Pepper, however, told investors at Tuesday’s meeting that his board has “not thought at all” about the possibility Jobs may step down. With a 7.4 percent stake, the Apple CEO is Disney’s largest shareholder.
