365 Adventures in 2011: Day 142 – Mickey Mouse in Rice

Yesterday it was Donald Duck in Carbonite. Today it’s Mickey Mouse made of rice, courtesy of our chef at Kobe, a Japanese steakhouse. No, I didn’t request this. He did it all on his own. I simply can’t escape Disney no matter where I go!

365 Adventures in 2011: Day 91 – Mickey Mouse’s new house

After finishing up work, I visited Mickey Mouse in his new meet-and-greet home, Town Square Theater. The all-new area took over for the former Exposition Hall at the Magic Kingdom. The photo op takes place in Mickey’s dressing room “backstage” at the theater. It’s a fun space filled with plenty of Disney details, though not nearly enough time is given to actually see them all. I only had a few fleeting moments with the Mouse.

365 Adventures in 2011: Day 64 – Climbing Everest with Mickey and Goofy

Tonight I attended the 5th anniversary annual passholder party for Expedition Everest, the mountainous roller coaster at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. The party, like most passholder parties, was an opportunity for regulars to ride a few rides as many times as they want with little wait, while random loud party tunes replacing themed music throughout the open areas of the park. On hand were Mickey Mouse and Goofy, both dressed for the occasion wearing mountain climbing gear and outfits. They, of course, were there to take pictures with guests.

I’ve posted some video and a few more photos of the pair as well, if you want to see more.

365 Adventures in 2011: Day 40 – And now it’s time to say goodbye…

Today I visited Mickey’s Toontown Fair at the Magic Kingdom for the final time. It permanently closes Saturday to make way for Storybook Circus, which will no longer feature the houses of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. So I decided to pay them a visit in the Judge’s Tent one last time before it all goes away.

I’ll have many more photos and even some video from my final trip to Toontown online soon. Of course, there are no plans to remove Toontown from Disneyland.

Mesmerizing Dutch music video features Disneyland Paris and Disney characters

Dutch singer Jan Smit is currently climbing the charts in the Netherlands with his song “Leef Nu Het Kan” (which Babel Fish tells me translates to “Live now it is possible”).

A strangely mesmerizing music video for this song has shown up on YouTube, including shots of Disneyland Paris’ Main Street and castle, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Toy Story’s Buzz Lightyear and Woody, and a bunch of random girls stepping in and out of frame.

It’s a music video that only a Disney fan could enjoy:

Thanks to Inside the Magic listener Clarissa for sending me a link to this video!
