Man says ‘Call me if you want to talk’

From ap.org:

Ryan Fitzgerald is unemployed, lives with his father and has a little bit of time on his hands. So, he decided to offer his ear, to anyone who wants to call. After posting a video with his cell phone number on YouTube on Friday, the 20-year-old told The Boston Globe he has received more than 5,000 calls and text messages. Fitzgerald said he wanted to “be there,” for anyone who needed to talk. “I never met you, but I do care,” a spiky-haired Fitzgerald said into the camera on his YouTube posting.

Wow. What a great idea. I suppose if he helps cheer some people up it’s worth doing. Although I expect he’ll mostly get people just calling because they can.

Transformers: The Game

From action-figure.com:

At this year’s Hasbro Toyfair walk through, Action-figure.com got an extra little treat. Locked away in a meeting room upstairs awaiting our big round Christmas morning eyes was a demo for Transformers: The Movie video game from Activision! Our hosts explained that recreating the look and feel of these fairly new but familiar robots was important over all. Not only would they recreate each big bot to a T, but shading, intricacy and the gleam on every bumper would be present. This recreation also spills over to the handling of your robot, which in most cases is a tank with feet. Smash your way through the city streets as either Autobot or Decepticon, picking up cars, light posts and other implements of urban destruction to take down your opponent. Much like Hulk: Ultimate destruction, your environment is fully interactive, complete with citizens fleeing in terror and buildings that crumble as you spiral head long into them. With a city allowing you this much space to play in, you’ll want to take your time and fulfill your lifelong Godzilla dreams, but remember, you’ve got a job to do! Transformers: The Movie game sends you on missions that take you through the movie story line and beyond on the side of humanity or plotting their demise. Of course, what’s a Transformers game without the power to transform? Oh yes…there will be rolling out! Flip into vehicle mode and the push of a button to speed through the city streets, beat time challenges or catch up with a Decepticreep who’s terrorizing your favorite Starbucks location. 6 dollars for a Half Caf Mocha with extra cream??!! Megatron will hear of this!!!

One final note. For those of you a little upset that the bots from your childhood have gone under the torch for a redesign, Activision added a little something just for you. Optimus Prime and Megatron will be voiced by none other than Peter Cullen and Frank Welker, the men who voiced the bots in the original cartoon we know and love. Thanks Activision!

The game sounds great, even if it is the new Transformer look from the movie.  I’m excited to have free control over Autobots and Decepticons in a city.

Be sure to check out the “Game Behind the Scenes” video on transformersgame.com to see Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime) and Frank Welker (Megatron) do their voices.  It’s a trip.

I was stunned at some of the beautiful photography. Check out the Disneyland Paris photos from April — especially the Sleeping Beauty castle view with the 15th Anniversary banners,
