Slowly getting ready for Halloween, I unpacked another zombie today. This one appears to be climbing out of a grave and was purchased from Target a couple weeks ago. There will definitely be a different vibe outside my house on October 31st this year. No gore, no torture, just eeriness and moaning undead. Hoping for a more subtle, creepy vibe rather than a loud in-your-face scary one.Tweet
If anyone wonders why I keep going back to Halloween Horror Nights as often as possible, this picture I took tonight should sum it up nicely. There is nothing on this planet more entertaining than watching others get scared by chainsaw guys and other creepy characters. And taking pictures of them getting scared is quite fun too…Tweet
During a late night Walmart run, I spotted some extraordinarily silly snack cakes renamed to promote Transformers: Chocwave Shockwave and Snoballimus Optimus Prime. There were Bumblebee Twinkies too, but those didn’t have a “clever” name. And no, I didn’t buy them. Yuck.Tweet
A visit to Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend always means a brush with a few zombies and a few celebrities. After watching this year’s zombie walk, I wandered the convention, taking pictures along the way, like the one here of Kristin Bauer, who plays Pam on HBO’s “True Blood.” It was nice being able to just casually walk up and chat with her, a clear contrast to waiting 8+ hours to attend the “True Blood” panel she was part of at July’s San Diego Comic Con. Of course, many other stars of the show were at that panel as well.
Recap of the zombie walk and the convention (which continues this weekend) here.Tweet
After skipping the always crowded first weekend, Michelle and I enjoyed a trip around the World Showcase for the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. There are a lot of great new items to try this year, and a few that aren’t so great. But in the end I left stuffed and look forward to going back to try a few more, as I only ate a small percentage of the many dishes that are available.
