WiiToob: YouTube for Wii users
I found this online, but I haven’t had a chance to try it with my Wii yet. It’s a video sharing site formatted to look good and play well on your Wii. I looked through the site and I don’t see a place to upload videos, so I’m not sure where they’re getting them from.
TweetNintendo Wii Online
From cubed3.com:
Pokémon Battle Revolution is still being lined up as the system’s first online title in the US, with Third Parties now receiving online development kits so that titles with online features will start to come in the very near future from all quarters. This will definitely be music to the ears of both gaming fans and developers such as Activision, Majesco and Square Enix, all of which have discussed Wii’s online plans in recent months.
Nintendo Wii games are finally going to make the leap online now that programmers have gotten their hands on these development kits. I can picture it now… Wii Contra with online multiplayer! ;)
TweetHotel Dusk Review
“Hotel Dusk: Room 215” is my latest favorite Nintendo DS game. Not only does it have a great visual style, but it’s also the first adventure game I’ve played in a long time. It’s not quite as involved puzzle-wise as Maniac Manion or Grim Fandango, but it has all of the elements of a good adventure game. You walk around Hotel Dusk, talking to the various folks who are staying there, slowly unraveling clues about them along the way.
From slashdot.org:
Traditional gaming has players skipping past dialogue to ‘get to the game’, looking past the cutscenes and carefully crafted prose to whatever the game is ‘about’. Hotel Dusk: Room 215 has the distinction of reversing that: the words are the game’s reason for being. More interactive novel than game, it’s somewhat understandable why Nintendo has been so quiet about this title’s existence. Vastly different than many of the DS titles enjoyed by American audiences, Hotel Dusk has no puzzle-ish gameplay, no catchy music, and no direct combat sequences. Even if we can understand the reasons behind Nintendo’s lack of advertising, it’s still a damn shame. This particular hotel stay easily has some of the best writing ever offered up in a videogame. Character backgrounds are intriguing, the jokes are funny, and protagonist Kyle Hyde is a messed-up bag of awesome.
If you don’t like reading, this game is definitely not for you. This game is essentially an interactive short story. If you happen to have a particularly bad conversation with someone, your adventure ends. As long as you lay fairly low and keep the conversations moving along without offending anyone, you make it through to the end.
There are ten chapters in Hotel Dusk and I am currently beginning Chapter 10. I’ve been putting off playing it because I don’t want it to end. I always hate beating these type of games because the replay value is fairly low. It’s like rereading a book. While it’s still entertaining the second time around, you already know the ending so it’s not as much fun.
I can only hope that this game becomes a huge success and leads to more adventure games making their way to the Nintendo DS and Wii systems, as they are perfect for this style of gaming.
TweetWii Weights Make Gaming a Workout.
gizmodo.com reports:
If you’re really serious about using the Wii to get into shape, you need to do a bit more than just play Wii Bowling for a half hour every day. You need to want it, and you need to be willing to really feel the burn.
These Wii Weights wrap around your wrists to make those backhand swings really count. This is just a prototype, and one that won’t get made as it has nothing to do with a Wii other than the photoshopped logo, so if you want to have the same effect just go out and buy some wrist weights and get ready to hate gaming. –Adam Frucci
Very funny. I actually wouldn’t mind buying these. Depending on the weight and the game being played, it could really give you a workout!
