End of the Daily Adventures
It was mostly fun to share daily photos of all the adventures I went on throughout 2011 and I know many enjoyed seeing them. But the task that started as a challenge became a chore by the end of the year and while I am happy to have a year’s worth of pictures to look back on, I will not be doing the same in 2012. I still intend to share many photos along the way, but definitely not every day. I’m considering doing 52 Adventures, one each week, but may not even complete that. I won’t let this blog go to waste (again), but the daily thing is all done.
But today I leave you with a Christmas bonus: a Walking Dead zombie action figure posing in front of our Christmas tree. Merry undead Christmas.

In a full day shopping extravaganza, I scored a full set of Tales from the Cryptkeeper action figures that are almost 20 years old. They were just $2 each in a toy store at the Florida Mall, still on their original cards! Great deal. The figures are from the 1993 animated kid’s show based on the HBO series “Tales From the Crypt.” I don’t remember the cartoon, but I’ll have to look it up soon, as I love the old live action HBO show. Cryptkeeper needs to make a comeback. These are the 2 Cryptkeeper figures in the full set of 8, which also includes a werewolf, mummy, zombie, and other horror staples.

I was on a mission to buy the new DuckTales shirt I heard was available at Epcot and when I got there, I also spotted an excellent Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers shirt too, so I had to get both. While I like the DuckTales shirt (Woo hoo!), I love this Rescue Rangers shirt because it doesn’t say anything, so it’s slightly more subtle. Slightly.

A visit to Spooky Empire’s Ultimate Horror Weekend always means a brush with a few zombies and a few celebrities. After watching this year’s zombie walk, I wandered the convention, taking pictures along the way, like the one here of Kristin Bauer, who plays Pam on HBO’s “True Blood.” It was nice being able to just casually walk up and chat with her, a clear contrast to waiting 8+ hours to attend the “True Blood” panel she was part of at July’s San Diego Comic Con. Of course, many other stars of the show were at that panel as well.
Recap of the zombie walk and the convention (which continues this weekend) here.
Tweet365 Adventures in 2011: Day 239 – Thundercats unpacked
It took me a few weeks, but I finally moved a bunch of things around on my office shelves to make room for my new Thundercats toys. A couple are new releases based on the old series (including the Comic-Con exclusive Lion-O) and the rest are from the fantastic new series that I look forward to watching every Friday. These new toys from Bandai are some of the best action figures I’ve seen in a long time. They look just like the characters, they’re highly articulated with well-hidden articulation points, they come with exactly the right accessories, they hold their poses well, and they stand up easily. Many of the figures have interactive features, courtesy of “ThunderLynx” technology – basically a magnet inside each figure that activates movements and sometimes lights/sounds. They’ve really done a great job with all of these figures.
