365 Adventures in 2011: Day 308 – Halloween is really really over

I know Halloween is really, really over when I put away this year’s Halloween Horror Nights media gift/invitation. The severed hand sent to me by Lady Luck is now boxed up, placed upstairs with a mutilated old doll from clown Jack and a chain-wrapped jewelry box from Bloody Mary. I look forward to seeing what arrives when Halloween Horror Nights 22 comes around in 2012. Now it’s officially time to put it behind me and prepare for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

365 Adventures in 2011: Day 307 – New PinkBerry

We went to the Mall at Millenia for preview night of the new PinkBerry frozen yogurt shop. For a few hours, they were giving out free frozen yogurt with any toppings. While Michelle stood in line, I browsed around the mall, returning just in time to grab a cup of chocolate yogurt with coconut, dark chocolate crunchies, a waffle cookie crisp wafer thing, and some kiwi. The kiwi tasted oddly bitter, but the rest was quite good. Michelle devoured hers faster than I could even find out what she ordered. I also tried PinkBerry’s new peppermint flavor, debuting at this new location before the rest of the country. It was good for the first bite or two, but got old fast.

I should also note that somewhere along the line I messed up the numbering of these daily photos, so I am fixing it today, the 307th day of the year. I don’t think I missed any days, only mis-numbered them somewhere. And I don’t feel like going back and fixing it.

365 Adventures in 2011: Day 304 – Halloween is over

Whew. Many hours later, all the Halloween decorations are put away. Compare this photo of our living room to yesterday’s. There’s actually some room to walk! And now Halloween is officially over. I had to pull out all our Christmas decorations in order to find space to put away the Halloween ones, so we’ll be decking the halls soon enough. But not just yet. Right now my stomach is too busy reminding me about turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie.

365 Adventures in 2011: Day 303 – Halloween aftermath

The day after Halloween is always a disaster in our house. All the decorations we spent hours putting out yesterday are piled just inside our front door as we figure out what to do with it all. There’s so much stuff lying around I had to use the wide angle camera to get it all into one shot. It’ll get stuffed into closest, bath tubs, the garage, and in places where our Christmas stuff is, which we’ll pull out for the rest of the year. Then where will the Christmas stuff go? Who knows. For now, I’m too sore to even think about it.

365 Adventures in 2011: Day 334 – Tannenbaum

We got ourselves one fine lookin’ tree this year. But really, what Christmas tree isn’t great? After the branches fall a bit, we’ll decorate it with all kinds of shiny and sparkly things and wait for it to be packed with presents on Christmas morning. And I’m sure at some point our cat will end up sleeping underneath it.
