Big Band version of Super Mario Bros. song

See a big band in Japan play one of my favorite songs – the Super Mario Bros. theme. It even has words. Follow the link for an English translation.

Can’t think of the name of a song? – just hum it

If you don’t know the name of a song, this site will let you sing or even hum the tune and it’ll try to find it.
I gave it a try and it gave me a list of possible songs, one was the right one. You can listen to the songs it finds to find the right match – then even buy the song if you want. Cool.

Mickey Mouse-Themed iPod Nano on Sale in Japan: Dumbo Isn’t a Fan

nano-mickey.jpg

From gizmodo.com

Collectors of Disney memorabilia are going to go nuts for this limited-edition Mickey Mouse iPod – if there are any left. There are only 500 of these 2GB Mickey-etched Nanos, which went on sale on March 14 for $293, and come with a rodent-embossed leather case and strap. But why didn’t they make it an 8GB model? If you’ve missed the boat, then keep your eyes peeled on eBay. Personally, I’d rather wait for the Hong Kong Phooey version.

Man it looks awesome. I really hope they come out with them here in the US.

iTunes 7.1 out, claims to play nicer with Vista

From engadget.com

It looks like those legions of iPod owners who have been taking Apple’s advice to hold off on upgrading to Vista can finally dust off their month-old DVD cases and get their upgrade on, as iTunes 7.1 has officially been released with “a number” of the compatibility issues accounted for. According to the release notes, however, a few known problems still remain, with the most serious being the nasty possibility that your iPod gets corrupted when you go by the book and select “Safely Remove Hardware” from the taskbar to, um, safely remove your hardware. Instead, users are advised to choose “Eject iPod” from the iTunes Control menu or “Restore” if they’re reading this just a little too late. Other remaining quirks include sporadic address book syncs, messed up text and graphics (resizing the window should do the trick), and annoyingly, continued lack of support for any 64-bit editions of Windows, be it XP or Vista. Meanwhile, in other news, the ten Zune owners who also rock a Mac are still waiting patiently for Microsoft to acknowledge their existence.

Well, I just installed it and it did fix some graphic problems I was having with 7.0. Also Apple now added the vista looking Max,Min,Exit buttons! Picture below. Overall, still some problems, but should be fixed in 7.2.

What’s Up, John?

SPOKANE, Wash.  —  Blues Traveler singer and harmonica player John Popper was arrested after the vehicle he was riding in was clocked going 111 mph, the Washington State Patrol said Wednesday.

Popper, 39, was arrested Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 90 near the Spokane/Lincoln county line, the Washington State Patrol said.

Inside the black Mercedes SUV, officers found a cache of weapons and a small amount of marijuana, the Patrol said. A police dog searched the vehicle, finding numerous hidden compartments containing four rifles, nine handguns and a switchblade knife. Authorities also found a Taser and night vision goggles. The vehicle was seized.
