365 Adventures in 2011: Day 157 – Travel aftermath
Getting home from a trip is always a mess. It’s easy to grab stuff to throw into a suitcase and leave with. But then returning home always results in a pile of that stuff on the floor, waiting to be put away. It won’t take long… it’s just a matter of actually doing it.

Our last day at Disneyland was a casual one, taking in a few additional attractions we hadn’t yet hit this trip and returning to a few favorites. One of the last rides we enjoyed was, of course, The Haunted Mansion.

Disneyland’s new daytime parade, Mickey’s Soundsational Parade, is wonderful! I enjoyed seeing it for the first time on Thursday (from high atop a media riser) and again today from Fantasyland. Each float has so many details that it would take many views to catch them all. And the live drummers are great. After watching today, we followed the parade for a while through the Fantasyland streets and I couldn’t resist getting this great photo with the parade and the Matterhorn behind me.

Disney has been hard at work creating Radiator Springs at their California Adventure theme park and today as part of a special presentation I stood just outside one of the future entrances to the area. While I’m not a big Cars fan, it looks like Radiator Springs and its rides, restaurants, and other sights will be incredible. The sheer size of the area is amazing. I look forward to seeing it complete next year!
Tweet365 Adventures in 2011: Day 153 – The Little Mermaid ride grand opening
It’s been a long, fun day at Disneyland! After flying across the country, my first stop was the extremely entertaining grand opening of the new ride, The Little Mermaid ~ Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. From up high on the media riser, I enjoyed musical performances while capturing them on video for all to enjoy. Then I rode the new ride a couple times – which was great! Much more to come from Disneyland soon.
