New Disney videos posted
Here’s another shameless self promotion (not the money kind, just ego).
I’ve posted a lot of videos to my youtube account in the past week. Check it out to see The Haunted Mansion, a parade, a stage show, characters jumping rope on main street, Disney in 1979, Liberty Square Riverboat, The British Invasion singing “brithday”, Country Bears, Figment and a few videos from SeaWorld. On most of the files I have a link in the description to a larger, higher quality version of the videos on Veoh.com.

Tweet6 people injured on Walt Disney World water ride
From theledger.com:
The Associated Press
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla.
Five Walt Disney World visitors and a theme park worker were injured Tuesday after a water ride malfunctioned, authorities said.Disney spokeswoman Jacquee Polak said the injuries were not life threatening, but she couldnt be more specific. She said it was not immediately clear what happened to the Kali River Rapids ride, but somehow it malfunctioned where guests transfer from floats to a walkway.
“Nothing like this has ever happened,” Polak said.
Disney closed the ride to investigate, she said. It simulates a river rapids trip through an Asian rain forest in the Animal Kingdom part of Disney World.

Update:
From orlandosentinel.com
TweetFive Walt Disney World guests and an employee were transported to the hospital Tuesday morning after the Kali River Rapids ride at Animal Kingdom was evacuated.
One of the rides’ sensors caused the flumes to stop as they were traveling up a steep incline, prompting an evacuation about 10:20 a.m., said Bo Jones, deputy fire chief of the Reedy Creek Improvement District.
A platform designed to help transfer guests from the ride to the exit stairs malfunctioned during the evacuation.
One Disney employee may have suffered a bone fracture and the five guests suffered other minor injuries such as bruises and neck and back pain, Jones said.
The injured people included three teenagers, one 21-year-old and two people in their 40s.
Nothing is too far out for founder of Rainforest restaurants
From eastvalleytribune.com:
TweetMINNEAPOLIS – Steven Schussler, the brash entrepreneur who founded Rainforest Café, has not had a winning restaurant concept in more than a decade.
But he hasn’t lost his ability to shock, entertain and, ultimately, to raise millions of dollars for his fairytale-like ideas.
This month, RED Development, a major developer of open-air shopping centers, agreed to build Schussler’s themed restaurant concepts in more than 30 locations across the country, in a deal valued at more than $100 million.
Designed to overstimulate the senses, the concepts include a Chinese restaurant with statues from China’s Qing dynasty; a Parisian jazz club with a giant airplane descending from the ceiling; a restaurant with Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and a hot dog stand with more than 3,000 types of mustard.
Now, Schussler is on a roll again. A year ago, he made $7.6 million when he sold 80 percent of his dinosaur-themed restaurant, T-Rex, to Houstonbased Landry’s Restaurants. And ground has broken on two of Schussler’s restaurants — T-Rex and Asian-themed Yak & Yeti — at Walt Disney World in Orlando.

Animal Kingdom night time show?? Rumors abound.
From laughingplace.com:
TweetRumors on the laughingplace.com boards are mentioning a possible nighttime parade at Disney’s Animal Kingdom called “Rivers of Light” which may appear sometime in 2008. Supposedly the park will have a special “Nighttime Kingdom” theme as part of a DAK After Dark campaign. Could be sheer rumor — but makes sense to try and expand park hours into the evening. Fireworks are a “no go” at DAK due to the animals, but a nighttime parade with water and fire? Sounds like a winner.
