365 Adventures in 2011: Day 233 – D23 Expo podcast marathon
I recorded my post-D23 Expo podcast Tuesday night, after spending several hours gathering my thoughts. The resulting show was nearly 3 hours long and I still left out a lot of details. It’s amazing what can happen during a 3-day event. I’ve read a lot of people’s complaints online about what was “wrong” with the 2011 D23 Expo and I agree with some of it, but overall I enjoyed the event. Yes, having a press pass helped GREATLY, but then again, if I wasn’t covering the event, I would have had a lot of spare time to wait in the lines and would likely have gotten into all the same presentations that I did. That’s the reason they give press passes. It allowed me to spend that time I’d be waiting in line in a much more productive manner, editing video, writing articles, and the like. I think the real issue is that people expected there to be short lines. Every convention has lines and when there are more people than there are seats, some people are simply going to have to find something else to do. That’s just how it goes.
