I saw an advance screening of the new “Fright Night” in 3D tonight. It’s a DreamWorks film, distributed by Disney. When going to these press screenings, I never quite know what to expect. Sometimes it’s a small theater filled mostly with press. Sometimes it’s a small theater with a handful of press and the rest regular people who won early tickets. And then there are times like tonight where it was a BIG theater, with one row of press, and the rest of the seats PACKED with regular people, all excited to see the film. The original “Fright Night” from the ’80s is certainly a popular horror/creature film and the new one was surprisingly good. I’ll post a full review soon, but in short, I enjoyed the 2 hours I spent watching the film. And more surprisingly, 3D was used well to enhance the movie watching experience, rather than just as a gimmick to sell tickets.
