365 Adventures in 2011: Day 199 – $1.99 CDs
By sheer coincidence, today is picture 199 for the year and it’s about $1.99 CDs that I spotted at Best Buy. While checking out, they had this display with the Guns n’ Roses album “Chinese Democracy” for sale at that low price, clearly aimed to combat cheap online sales of music. The album has been out for quite a while and didn’t do that well to begin with, but it’s still interesting to see a physical product in a store display sold this inexpensively. I prefer to purchase physical CDs instead of online downloads, as I enjoy getting a physical item for my money, but low online prices for albums – often $1.99 or less – have swayed me in the MP3 direction lately. But if I knew I could buy $1.99 CDs at the store, I’d gladly do that instead.

I’m the same way with video games. If I’m gonna spend my hard earned cash, I better bet somthing physical so I can look at my collection of games or music or movies. It just isn’t the same when it is digital.
