365 Adventures in 2011: Day 146 – The girls of Cheetah Hunt at Busch Gardens

It was a long, long, long day at Busch Gardens. After an hour and a half drive, I arrived to the Tampa theme park, ready to ride their new roller coaster Cheetah Hunt, see some cheetahs run fast, and do some interviews. Unfortunately upon arrival I found that Cheetah Hunt was down. Technical difficulties of some sort. It’s a new ride, so that sort of thing is to be expected. I moved on and did the interviews. Still no ride. I looked at the nearby cheetahs. They were walking or sleeping. No running. It wasn’t until 7 hours after I arrived at the park that I finally got two rides on Cheetah Hunt. While I wasn’t thrilled at the extreme delay, it amazingly was worth it. This coaster is fantastic! I’ll have a more thorough report online tomorrow (Friday) with new video, photos, and ride details. But I definitely recommend this unique ride. It’s a great combination of thrill, gentleness, and speed that’s not too scary but not ever dull either.

But you must be wondering… where are the girls of Cheetah Hunt, as this posts’s title mentions? Amidst the frustration early in the day of not being able to ride (or see cheetahs running), I did stop for a photo with some of the new entertainers that will regularly roam the Cheetah Hunt area. Actually, I just wanted to get a photo OF them, but they insisted I got a photo WITH them too. And how could I say no?
