365 Adventures in 2011: Day 109 – Chillin’ with Master Gracey
One of the best parts about the new Haunted Mansion interactive queue is being able to get up close with Master Gracey’s famous tombstone. I can now say I’ve placed a rose on it, something I never thought I’d do. (It was already there. I simply picked it up and put it back down…)
I’m so glad you appreciated my putting the rose on Master Gracey’s grave. I placed it on Wednesday (4/19/11) and was shocked when some friends sent us a picture saying it was still there yesterday (4/20/11). When the new queue opened I was upset to find they had stopped putting rose on Gracey’s grave. It was sad to me that this small gesture of honoring our host and Yale Gracey may be lost. I decided to take matters into my own hands and place one myself. After putting the rose atop the tombstone a cast member told us, “Master Gracey thanks you.” I didn’t think it was going to last the night let alone at least two days. Just a question, did you turn the rose when you picked it up because I placed it facing the other way and i was wondering if maybe the cast members have been protecting it. Thanks.
I only picked it up and put it back down… didn’t turn it at all. Hopefully it will stick around!
