365 Adventures in 2011: Day 37 – The Wizarding World of Jurassic Potter
As promised, today’s photo does not come from my ongoing reorganization of our collectible-filled bonus room but rather OUTSIDE of our house! Michelle and I visited Universal Orlando today to take in a little Wizarding World of Harry Potter and wander the park. Last night, I caught a good chunk of Jurassic Park on TV, so I thought I should take a picture of both worlds, which are sandwiched together in Islands of Adventure.
As a side note, I also went to Universal Studios with the intent of riding Rip, Ride, Rockit for the first time in many months. But as usual, problems persist. Halfway through waiting in line (the first time), the ride shut down. I came back around 30 minutes later to find it running again with only a 10-minute posted wait time, so I jumped back in line. 25 minutes later, I reached the load area only to find that they decided it would be a good time to swap out one of the trains, which took another 5-10 minutes.
While the conveyor belt load system is operational, it’s not used efficiently, causing the whole ride to stop more than move. When the revolutionary loading system works, it works really well, sending off trains very quickly, one after another. But when it fails, it fails miserably, causing my supposed 10 minute wait time to turn into 45 minutes, with a VERY long line developing behind me. It’ll be a while before I bother to ride that attraction again.
But the Wizarding World was fun, as always. ;)
