365 Adventures in 2011: Day 24 – Suburban horses
I finally hopped back on the ol’ Segway today after a week or so of not riding it (I’ve been busy!). I took it down the street to get some lunch at the large outdoor shopping plaza that a few years ago replaced a decades-old family-owned orange grove.
While the grove and its generates of houses and antiques were a nice piece of Central Florida history, I much prefer having easy access to Target, Best Buy, and plenty of restaurants. With that said, it’s still nice to see that between my house and the shopping plaza sits a small ranch with a few horses. Amidst the hustle of the cookie-cutter neighborhoods and big box shopping, I enjoy occasionally peering into the ranch at a slower pace of life.
From this photo, it’s tough to believe that just around the corner exist a Cracker Barrel, KFC, Taco Bell, Starbucks, gas station, and many more chain establishments.
