Choose Your Own Adventure, the popular book series that allowed readers to pick their own plot choices and ending, is back! Actually, I didn’t know it was ever gone but according to @wilw and @Brendoman on Twitter, it has returned.

Visiting their web site, it certainly seems as that’s the case, as there’s a new printed book to be bought as well as the first-ever iPod Choose Your Own Adventure…

I remember reading Choose Your Own Adventure books throughout elementary school, hoping I’d find the longest story branch and always hated it when the plot abruptly ended with the main characters getting caught by a villain or worse. With the Web around today, the idea of choosing the next path in a story may seem irrelevant to those already familiar with hyperlinks. But for nostalgia’s sake, I’m in favor of a new CYOA book and perhaps the iPod version is the way to go. I’d really like to see an iPhone/iPod Touch version that allows you to tap on your next destination.
