From fox19.com:
Something old is new again at Kings Island, as the backward traveling trains on the Racer roller coaster will run forward again when the park opens for the 2008 season on Sunday, April 20 at 10:00 a.m.
The decision to run both sides of the Racer forward again after 26 years with one side facing backward was made in an effort to be consistent with other Cedar Fair parks. The Red Racer trains will be on the former backward side, with the Blue Racer trains on the other side.

Hmmm….I don’t think they should do this. I think the backwards one made the ride that much more interesting. It isn’t everyday that you get to ride a roller coaster backwards. It does seem, though, that the ride has gotten much more bumpy in more recent years.

I just went over to their web site for the first time in a few months and noticed something else I don’t like - they are changing the names of a lot of the rides. I think this is going to confuse people. I just hope that some of the actual rides don’t change (like “Tomb Raider”, which is now called “The Crypt”). I guess we’ll have to wait and see since I haven’t purchased my pass for this year yet.

The naming of the coaster has to deal with the copyrights that Paramount holds on them. Like when Cedar Fair (KI’ Parent Comanpany) bought Six Flags in Aurora Oh they had to rename most everything there. ie Batman’s Knightflight..changesd to the Dominator..

I understand completely. I just hope they don’t have to change the things inside Tomb Raider….err…..The Crypt. I think that the video that they had, which was from Tomb Raider, was very good for the ride. I guess I should just wait and see. Everything could be for the better. One thing that did surprise me, though, is the fact that Nickelodeon Universe is still called that and, to the best of my knowledge since I don’t ride the kiddie rides, all of those have the same names. I was just really confused earlier when I went to the web site today and saw a ride that I had never heard of. I thought they were adding something new, but upon further investigating I realized that it, along with many others, were just name changes.
