From latimes.com:

Missing since November, the beloved dynamite-chewing goat on the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad roller coaster is expected to wander back to his exposed butte in the next few weeks, according to Disneyland officials.
The extended and unexplained disappearance fueled speculation on Internet chat rooms about the bleating goat’s demise and led to more than a few instances of baa-baa-bad humor.
Officially, the nameless, genderless goat is “on vacation.” Unofficially, the audio-animatronic animal is getting a new fur coat in the Anaheim theme park’s maintenance department after years of exposure to the wind, sun and rain.
Disney fans fondly recall the legendary “goat trick” — where riders at the crest of the second lift hill train their eyes on the goat throughout the subsequent sharp turn to greatly increase the sideways G-forces.

From ign.com:
February 19, 2008 - Disney Interactive will introduce a new online DS service called DGamer in May that will enable users to create their own Disney-related DS profiles, make their own avatars, track accomplishments, correspond and trade collected items over the DS wi-fi connection.
Here’s how the service works. When you insert a DGamer-enabled cart into your DS, you’ll have the option to sign up for the service — minors have limited access and adults can authorize more access by providing a credit card number for age verification.
Once connected, you’ll create a handle and customize your avatar, choosing from a number of different Disney-themed clothing items and accessories (Buzz Lightyear, Narnia, Mickey, etc.). DGamer members can then use the free service to compare ‘honors,’ that they’ve accumulated from playing DGamer-enabled games or chat about games or general topics. Conversations are monitored by Disney moderators. DGamer account holders can also access the service from a PC.
Right now the service is only planned for DS, but Disney said it hopes to introduce a similar concept on the Wii in the future. The new feature will debut on The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, due out in May, and Disney expects to release 10 more DGamer titles in 2008.
Sounds very interesting. I’d like to see how it turns out!

From nma.co.uk:
A fun site (www.disneytowerofterror.com) — worth a look. If you want English, tell it you are from the UK….Dr. Disney
Disneyland Resort Paris has launched a campaign site to promote the launch of its new ride, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.
Part of a through-the-line campaign for the April launch of the ride, disneytowerofterror.com allows users to upload photos that can then be
manipulated to make them look like the subject has travelled to the 4th dimension.
The site is supported by Disney Resort Paris’s first viral campaign, as well as an online ad campaign.
Federico Gonzalez, senior VP of marketing for Disneyland Resort Paris, said, “We know from experience in the US that Twilight Zone Tower of Terror appeals to older children, so we’ve designed this campaign to engage with 13-15-year-olds through media platforms that they engage with.”
The campaign is part of the resort’s 15th anniversary celebrations.

From darkhorizons.com:
If the “Justice League” movie is going to happen, its now a lot longer off than before.
Moviehole reports that rather than mid-2008, a 2010 start date is being targeted. With the cast booked out for much of 2008 and the studio not ready with the project, such a delay is not unexpected.
The news comes as reports late last week revealed that both the Batman and Superman characters had effectively been written out of the story the former expelled, the later killed by Doomsday so as not to conflict with those two stand-alone franchises.

Things are more rosy on “The Dark Knight” front though as the next trailer for the film, this one featuring more Bruce Wayne Christian Bale and Harvey Dent Aaron Eckhart is rumored to be premiering with “10,000 B.C.” on March 7th. Meanwhile, MTV News has video of the toy version of a flash car that Batman uses in the film.
Finally, a ten-minute behind-the-scenes reel promoting the upcoming DVD release of “Batman: Gotham Knight” is up at IO9.Com. Much like “The Animatrix”, this anthology film uses “Batman Begins” as inspiration to tell six different stories set in the Batman universe using different types of anime.

Say you’re in movies, your growth models frittered away to break-even, and an industry pretty much symbolized by a butt-stomping plumber is effectively cleaning your clock — whats a corporate dinosaur to do?
Easy: If you cant sufficiently milk em, depose em.
The Wall Street Journal reports thats essentially what Disney did when longtime Pixar partner THQ came pitching license rights to a Toy Story 3 game tie-in. Thanks but no thanks, said Disney and Pixar, opting instead to handle creation of the game due in 2010 in-house. Read the rest of this entry »
