From google.com:

As the Japanese have fewer and fewer children, Tokyo Disneyland is setting its sights on the growing elderly population, launching a cut-rate annual pass for visitors aged 60 or older.
It is believed to be the first time a special annual pass for seniors has been available at any of the worlds Disneylands, which are icons of entertainment for children.
Oriental Land Co., which operates Tokyo Disneyland and adjacent DisneySea, will from March 1 offer a pass costing 35,000 yen 325 dollars allowing seniors to visit one of the parks as many times as they wish in a year.
The price is a 22 percent discount on a regular pass. If seniors want to go to both parks, the annual pass will cost 55,000 yen, a 27 percent cut.
“As the country ages and people have fewer and fewer children, we need to take measures addressed to senior visitors,” Oriental Land spokesman Hiroshi Suzuki said.
“As we aim at family entertainment, elderly people arent the sole focus of our business but certainly are a core target,” he said.

From orlandosentinel.com:
Though it is not yet 3 years old, Walt Disney World’s popular but controversial airport shuttle and check-in service is luring so many tourists that the company soon might have to expand at Orlando International Airport — and fight off an antitrust lawsuit.
Disney transported more than 2.1 million passengers last year from the airport to its resorts and cruise ships, according to newly available figures. That’s nearly 9 percent more traffic than it handled in 2006, and it’s the first time the Disney service has crossed the 2 million threshold in a year.
At peak travel times, the company’s Magical Express buses to Disney World and its Disney Cruise Line buses to Port Canaveral carried more than 12,000 passengers in a single day. During one month — September 2007 — Disney carried away more than one of every seven travelers who landed at OIA.
Disney’s contract with OIA allows the airport to make Disney add a second customer check-in location when the company carries more than 2.2 million passengers in any 12-month period. Should that happen, Disney would have to divide its theme-park and cruise-line shuttle operations and rent more counter and queuing space at opposite ends of the main terminal.Disney currently pays nearly $1.3 million a year to rent counter, office and other operating space at the airport.
Spokeswoman Zoraya Suarez said Disney expects to pass the 2.2 million threshold this year. Some airport officials think it will happen as early as March or April.

From orlandosentinel.com:
A federal judge in Orlando has thrown out a lawsuit against Walt Disney World aimed at forcing the company to allow disabled visitors to ride two-wheeled Segways in its theme parks.
U.S. District Judge Gregory A. Presnell dismissed the suit Wednesday after agreeing with Walt Disney World’s contention that none of the three people who sued had any standing to do so, because none of them had demonstrated any intention to visit the resort in the near future.
“We asked for dismissal and the court agreed it was appropriate,” Disney World spokeswoman Jacquee Polak stated. “We provide a variety of accommodations to guests with disabilities, which allow them to fully enjoy our theme parks.”

Eighteen-year-old Colton Berry, from Staunton, VA was the final contestant sent home last night on American Idol
Paula had kind advice for the young man, telling him he was “talented,” and that he had “a whole career ahead” of him, but Simon slammed the teen.
“I wouldn’t agree with Paula,” he said. “I would say, get a good job and then enjoy singing ‘cause I don’t think you’ll make a successful career out of it.”

From darkhorizons.com:

Director David Yates (”Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix”) is presently working on the sixth installment in that series and many expected he would step aside for someone else to handle the film version of the seventh and final installment.
One of those people was young adult author Lois Lowry who’s keenly awaiting a film adaptation of her book “The Giver” which Yates is attached too. Now, on her official blog she reveals a ‘Giver’ movie will be delayed as Yates looks set to handle “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” after all.
“Bad news from The Giver Movie front. David Yates, the director currently working on the next Harry Potter film, was supposed to begin The Giver film next. But he has just decided he wants to do the final Harry Potter first, thereby postponing The Giver by several years.
Maybe the opening of this film could be held simultaneously with my celebration-of-life service after I succumb to old age? Or the producers will decide to get a different director. Stand by. But without holding your breath.”

From whdh.com:

Roger Clemens has pulled out of an ESPN sports personality weekend at Disney Hollywood Studios. The decision comes a week after Clemens gave testimony to a congressional committee about his alleged use of performance enhancing drugs.
Clemens says in a statement Wednesday, “I believe my current participation could be a distraction.”
ESPN spokesman Josh Krulewitz says ESPN “made the point that him being involved would be a newsworthy event,” and his decision to withdraw was made in the past 24 hours.
Clemens had agreed to participate in “ESPN the Weekend” before the release of the Mitchell Report.
The withdrawal came after Clemens and his former trainer, Brian McNamee, offered widely contradictory testimony to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform on Feb. 13.

We decided to not invest right now in a new Mac but my G3 iBook had a bad battery, a bad power cord and a broken keyboard. I searched on-line and ran across Powerbook Medic. They had all of the parts, brand new and sent them lightning fast! And when I had trouble with the new battery not taking a charge, a simple phone call had a new one on the way with a return label for the defective one. Way to go Powerbook Medic!
