From imdb.com:
Although the last “all new” episode of NBC’s Las Vegas ended with the words “to be continued,” the storyline won’t be. After receiving word that the network had canceled the series, its creator, Gary Scott Thompson, told TV Guide Online: “We were probably the first victim of the strike. The strike did us in. We had three more episodes to shoot for the season, which we didn’t get done. And the ‘To be continued…’ was actually supposed to be the first part of a two-parter. But that’s as far as we got.” Thompson said that he had warned his writers, “If there’s a strike, it’s going to be shows like ours that get hurt the most.” (He was presumably referring to shows with mediocre ratings.) He said that after the strike ended, he had hoped that he would at least have been allowed “to wrap it up and make it satisfying for all the fans, and, in some ways, give ourselves an incredible curtain call with all the major characters.”
I watched this show religiously since its first episode and while it has definitely had its ups and downs in quality, I’m upset to hear that we won’t be seeing more of it. A grand finale show would be nice.
Now the question is what will NBC do with their elaborate Montecito casino floor set that they seem to use in every other show they own (Heroes, Knight Rider, etc)

That stinks!!! How can they leave us hanging, what about the baby? I do hope they let them have a grand finale so they can atleast tie some of the loose ends.
what a bummer :-(

THAT IS MESSED UP!!!!!!! If this is the case then I am just not watching anything on NBC ever again! You just don’t put a to be contiunued…… on an episode and don’t finish it. These writers should be shot! And that is putting it nicely!! I have been a fan of this show since day one and to end like this is just uphauling!! That’s it for me and NBC!!! ABC is the place for me!

$5 he will find a way to wrap it up in a movie format or something, if he really does care he would find the financial backing for finishing the series. maybe shop it to other cable networks since NBC doesn’t like it anymore… Would TNT pay for such a thing? I know they would air them a week or 2 behind…

What has happened to TV in America? It is better to have all these reality shows on instead of a few decent shows that people like to watch. In my personal opinion I wish that we could go back to seeing more sitcoms and less of the reality shows. When I was growing up it was called family time. There is so much in these reality shows that I don’t want my 11 year daughter watching. NBC be a leader on this one and bring back Las Vegas along with other sitcoms and replace the reality shows. They have had their run and now lets get back to some real shows.

That is so ridiculous. I agree with Opie. This Reality TV proliferation is just insane. The only one I ever watched was The Apprentice because I was always interested to see what The Donald was up to in the business world.
Las Vegas was fun and entertaining. Not all shows were great and I REALLY wish they could have covered up Mary’s top half a little better….but it is much better than most of the new shows that have come out.
The other implication is that this means (even more than before) that there is less incentive for fan being loyal. I mean they can’t make just ONE more episode to wrap it up…that’s a joke.

I can’t believe NBC cancelled Las Vegas. I just really got into about a two seasons ago, but ever since I have been hooked. I love this show and I seriously am getting sick of reality tv.

I will most definitely miss Las Vegas! One of the only shows I’ve watched religiously from Day 1. Hopefully NBC will realize what a terrible mistake they have made before its too late. One of the best shows on TV in a long time.
My Fridays will never be the same.

I have always watched Vegas, and have recently begun to TIVo the entire series from the pilot on TNT. I just got online to find out when Vegas comes back for the new season and found it cancelled. This is CRAP, especially since I have started watching the show from the beginning again. PLEASE bring Vegas back NBC!!!!!!!!!

My wife and I watched Las Vegas religiously every week. We have purchased the first 4 seasons. I am sick and tired of seeing nothing but game and reality shows. It is evident NBC has poor management. Bring Vegas and James Caan back. We like Seleck but the part is made for Caan.
