Role Reversal - Mike Adamle joins WWE

The original American Gladiators hires Mike Adamle as their commentator. American Gladiators is successful and eventually goes off the air. American Gladiators returns years later with pro-wrestling star Hulk Hogan replacing Adamle as commentator. Now, Adamle joins the world of pro-wrestling as their host. Strange.

From wwe.com:

As co-host of the original American Gladiators series, Mike Adamle has witnessed his fair share of punches, kicks and body slams. Good thing, too. All the better to prepare him for his latest role: WWE on-air personality.

Best known for his Gladiator role 1989 – 1996, Adamle joins the WWE broadcast team this Sunday at the Royal Rumble, where he’ll get his feet wet interviewing Superstars. From there, Adamle will join team Raw on Monday nights doing, as he describes it, “a little bit of everything.”

I wish the AG producers had hired Adamle instead of Hulk.

I like both shows, but it does seem a better fit for Adamle to be on Gladiators and for Hulk to become a commentator on wrestling.

Yes I think that a good idea they put Mike Adamle for AG and Hulk should do WWE that would make a whole lot of sense to me. Pretty strange.

I think it’s coincidence. All I know is he was great on AG and I would love to see him replace one of SmackDown’s commentators as he is better than either one.

He didn’t do too great on his debut tonight on the PPV. He looked nervous and called Jeff Hardy “Jeff Harvey” before quickly correcting himself. That got him quite a few boos.
We’ll see how he does tomorrow night on Raw.
