From netcot.com:
Over the weekend, Greenpeace activists sneaked into Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and changed several incandescent light bulbs with energy efficient fluorescent bulbs. They also setup a banner stating “Mickey harms the global climate†to protest Hong Kong Disneyland’s energy management. Greenpeace says that the two lobby chandeliers have over 200 incandescent light bulbs which create more heat than light.
“Disneyland actually dims its own fairy tale by using energy inefficient bulbs and is costing our environment,†Frances Young said of Greenpeace said.
Disney wouldn’t confirm the statement but has indicated that it started installing energy-saving lights in guest rooms in 2006 and has made other changes to save power.
distant creations is a blog about the world and more. the world is: amazing. amusing. creative. confusing. this blog is here to deliver the best and most bizarre of the world and beyond. from distant lands to your home town.
topics to be featured here include technology, movies, television, music, collectibles (mainly action figures), theme parks (mainly Disney), video games, and any other interesting or strange news that pops up in the world.
the name 'distant creations' originated when I needed a term to summarize my many projects. my creations encompass a wide variety of fields and areas and are thus deemed as 'distant'.

I’d have a little more respect for Greenpeace if they went about their practices in a more socially acceptable manner. They had no business tampering with private property. Had one of them been electrocuted, fallen off a ladder, or whatever, they would have been more than happy to sue Disney.
