From ocregister.com:
Mickey Mouse handed over the keys to his kingdom to the cast of “High School Musical” on Tuesday, and if the adoring fans of the Disney Channel juggernaut had their way, well, Mickey might never get them back.’
On a witheringly hot day at Disneyland, the sequel that debuts Friday, “High School Musical 2,” was celebrated with a parade down Main Street, a new street show at California Adventure, a news conference that drew media from around the world and a blue-carpet premiere at the AMC Theatres in Downtown Disney.
You’re probably tired just hearing all that. Imagine if you were one of the thousands of fans who descended on the Magic Kingdom in search of a little “High School Musical” magic of their own.
“With the heat, oh, my gosh, we’re dying,” said Katey Gama, 15, of La Mirada, who hosted a slumber party for eight friends, stayed up until 3 a.m., then got up in time to leave the house at 6 a.m. to stake out a spot on the carpet to see the stars.
“Hopefully, it’s worth it – seeing our boyfriend, Zac,” Katey said of the hunky teen idol Zac Efron.
