911 World Trade Center Collapse

From google.com:

thumbnailserver2.jpg

The collapse of the 35W bridge in Minneapolis made me think about the World Trade Center collapse and I ran across this video. It really conveys the drama and horror of what was going on in the streets below and captures their reaction to the catastrophe unfolding before their eyes. Well worth a watch to remember…..Dr. Disney

A video blogger uploaded a 30 minute video of the WTC attacks. It was filmed from their home 500 yards from the north tower. The video was fairly recently released. The video starts after the first plane hit, then they turn it off. It starts again with the second plane hit. The south tower collapses, it is obscured, but you see the cloud. then it records the north tower collapsing entirely.

Such a tragedy….

I don’t think tragedy is the best way to describe it. To me, a tragedy is someone dieing in a car accident, someone dieing of cancer at a young age, the bridge collapse for example. 9-11 was a vicious attack, an act of war, and a genocide.

Oh, and while watching the video hurts and brings back terrible memories for all of us, I do appreciate Dr. Disney posting this as a reminder of the event itself. I think too often people forget that day.

Don’t read the comments accompanying that video unless you want to get very angry and upset.

You are right Ryan - the comments on that video site are not worth even looking at — just watch the amazing footage and remember all of the lives lost. I just think of all of the firefighters whom you can hear racing to the scene on the streets below — so willing to go charging into that hellish scene and lose their lives trying to save others.

My brother was there that day and made it out. Thanks for helping me remember how much I value life. I watched this, and we haven’t spoken in months. I’m calling him RIGHT now.
