More “Terminator” On the Way?

From darkhorizons.com:

After much talk and posturing over the future of “The Terminator” franchise in recent years, something surprising has happened – producers Mario Kassar and Andy Vajna have given up their baby.

The Halcyon Co. has acquired the franchise rights to the popular “The Terminator” movie series and intend to make a new trilogy that would anchor their movie company.

“Terminator 4″ will be based on a script by John Brancato and Michael Ferris (“Terminator 3″), and Halcyon plans to immediately begin preproduction on the film with the hope of a Summer 2009 release.

Neither creator James Cameron or original star Arnold Schwarzenegger will be involved in the project, which picks up with John Connor in his 30s leading what’s left of the human race against the machines.

The deal includes the right to produce any future “Terminator” projects in any format (film, TV, etc.). It also includes all future merchandising and licensing rights, and certain rights to the upcoming TV series “The Sarah Connor Chronicles.”

Terminator 2 is one of my all-time favorite movies and the first is up there as well.  The third… not so good.  Why?  No James Cameron.  I can only imagine what a whole new storyline in the Terminator world would be like.  I’m not sure the concept of a Terminator can survive without Arnold being the lead, but you never know.  Let’s hope they get some great writers involved.

George Lucas Announces Two More Star Wars Movies.

From slashfilm.com:

We absolutely knew that George Lucas was not done with the Star Wars universe. The Star Wars creator revealed to Fox News that he will make two more live-action Star Wars films.

“But they won’t have members of the Skywalker family as characters,” he said. “They will be other people of that milieu.”

The two “extra” movies will probably be one hour in length and made for television.

At the one hour length, what will differentiate the upcoming hour-long live-action Star Wars television series from the films? Wouldn’t it be a good idea to make them a bit longer?

MOBO Disney cell phone cases

When i was in Orlando, I happened across some really fun cell phone cases made by MOBO featuring some very nice Disney designs in a ton of different styles for variouos phones. I actually purchased an embosssed Mickey design at a Walgreens in Orland for about #10.00. I have seen them available on line as well — put “MOBO Disney cell phone cases” in a search engine

Google Wiider

Google quietly launched Google Reader specifically designed for the Wii last night — the new interface even makes use of the buttons found on your Wiimote. On my initial digging, I cannot find a similar interface designed specifically for the PS3 browser.
Tips and tricksGoogle Reader can take advantage of the buttons on your Wiimote, letting you navigate easily from the comfort of your couch:

  • up/down: scroll up/down
  • right/left: next/previous item
  • 1 button: show subscriptions
  • 2 button: show links

When showing subscriptions:

  • up/down: previous/next subscription
  • right: select current subscription
  • left: close
  • -/+: collapse/expand folder
