Finally! I always have the problem of seeing something and then the next day not being able to find it.  I am also betting that this will raise tons of privacy debates.

Saving Cash at Disney World

From postcrescent.com:

bilde.jpg

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — Dan Masters, 48, of Brampton, Ontario, smiles as he takes in the giddy scene unfolding in one of the most overlooked corners of Disney World.

Its sundown at Fort Wilderness, Disneys seldom-promoted, low-cost campground, and dozens of sugar-buzzed kids race around a large campfire. Theyve already roasted marshmallows for smores and sung along to a banjo player belting out “Its a Small World” and other Disney tunes. Now theyre scrambling for their autograph books so they can corner Chip and Dale, the furry Disney characters, who have “magically” appeared out of the surrounding trees.

“You just dont see stuff like this anymore,” said Masters, a small-business owner who has been bringing his 17-year-old daughter to Chipn Dales Campfire Sing-a-long since she was a toddler. “The marshmallows, the singing. Its a bit of nostalgia.”

And heres the best part: Its free. (Link below to read full article)

Darth Vader hot-air balloon

20070417b_1_bg.jpg

From starwars.com:

Lambert had already been thinking of building a Darth Vader hot air balloon when FanWars leader Nicolas Lelong (TK-2054) first brought up the idea. “For me, it was more of a joke and a fantasy, but Nicolas took it seriously and found the idea wonderful,” Lambert says. “He made contact with Lucasfilm in order to try to get their agreement.”

I’d love to see this in person. What’s really cool is that the sound the fire makes sounds just like Vader breathing.

Calling all Ice Cream Truck Drivers

Ice cream trucks aren’t what they used to be.  I was sitting at home today with my wife and we both heard an ice cream truck in the distance.  My wife has had a craving for a Screwball forever now, since she used to eat them all the time when she was younger.

I looked out the window only to see the truck drive by, fairly quickly, without even giving me enough time to make it out the front door to flag it down.

I threw on my shoes, went outside, and listened while I figured out where it was headed.  It sounded like the truck was circling around back behind my house, so I went through our back yard, through out neighbor’s yard, and onto the street behind our house.  Sure enough, there was the truck.  It was headed right toward me!

I waved it down… or at least, I thought I did.  The truck didn’t even slow down.  The driver just zoomed right past me.  She seemed like she was off in another world, not even looking to see if there was ANYONE waiting to buy some ice cream from her.   I walked into the middle of the street behind the truck and waved my arms in the air.  Still no reaction.  The truck finally stopped at the stop sign at the end of the road, turned left, and drove away.

How is this ice cream truck driver planning on selling anything if she doesn’t even look to see if anyone is waiting by the side of the road?

So… my point here is: if anyone out there knows where my wife can purchase a single Screwball, or a pack of them in the Orlando area, let me know.  I could go for a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle popsicle too.  Obviously we can’t depend on the local ice cream truck driver who must think she’s playing Grand Theft Auto.
