iPhone Q&A for AT&T employees

From engadgetmobile.com:

Not a lot here, but for those clammoring for any possible news about the iPhone, we got our hands on an internal AT&T iPhone Q&A document. The highlights:

1. With an iPhone you’ll have access to Cingular’s MyAccount via the device as well as via iTunes.

2. Sorry, no pre-orders (yet).

3. If one wants to read tea leaves, it’s still probable there will be iPhone specific service plans.

4. “… no subsidies are being offered on the phone at this time.” You heard ‘em!

5. They will “allow” out of contract customers to sign up for two more years to get an iPhone.

More information from the original document are located at the link url.
It may not be “new” information, but I needed my iPhone fix, and finally fresh news came out.

KURT RUSSELL: “LAST WORDS DISNEY WROTE WERE MY NAME.”

From contactmusic.com:

Actor KURT RUSSELL has confirmed the last two words movie mogul WALT DISNEY wrote before he died were the ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK star’s name.
It has long been rumoured that Disney penned ‘Kurt’ and ‘Russell’ just before he passed away in 1966. Russell was a child actor signed to the studio at the time.
During a recent appearance on US TV show Jimmy Kimmel Live, the 56-year-old Russell confirmed the urban legend as fact.
He said, “It’s true. I don’t know what to make of that. I was taken into his office one time after he died and I was shown that.”

Google’s favorite videos

From google.com:

Dear Google Video uploaders, we are temporarily unable to accept new uploads. In the meantime, here are some of our favorite videos!

I just went to Google to upload a video I took of a wedding over the weekend and got the above message. I’m glad it was down - those videos are great, especially the one with the people singing the video game songs. But I couldn’t figure out the song they were singing while sticking their arms out and bending down. The song is very familiar to me but I just can’t place it. Help. The ones I recognized were Super Mario Bros., Mortal Kombat and Zelda.

Apple releases 99¢ game for iPod

djfthbhlap.jpg

From playlistmag.com:

Apple offered up its newest iPod game on Tuesday in the form of iQuiz — the first 99 cent game for download from the iTunes Store.
A trivia game with four built-in games and the ability to download new trivia packs, iQuiz features pop culture questions related to music, movies and TV shows. Music Quiz 2 tests your knowledge of the songs, albums and artists on your iPod.

At only 99¢ this is a no-brainer buy. The best feature is the Music Quiz 2, as it plays more like a game show and uses your music. There’s also a way to create your own trivia questions, but I haven’t played around with that feature yet.

The Simpsons ride coming to Orlando

29287365.jpg

From orlandosentinel.com:

Don’t have a cow, man: The world’s most popular dysfunctional cartoon family is coming to Universal Studios.

A new ride based on The Simpsons is planned for Universal Studios both in Orlando and Hollywood. Universal Studios officials and The Simpsons producers Matt Groening and James L. Brooks are expected to announce a new partnership and theme-park ride today during a tourism convention in Anaheim, Calif.

The ride would go into Universal’s recently closed Back to the Future: The Ride buildings in both parks, making it an instant signature attraction in each. It would open in the spring of 2008.

Awesome! I can’t wait to ride it. Much better news than a Fast & Furious Ride.

Man says ‘Call me if you want to talk’

From ap.org:

Ryan Fitzgerald is unemployed, lives with his father and has a little bit of time on his hands. So, he decided to offer his ear, to anyone who wants to call. After posting a video with his cell phone number on YouTube on Friday, the 20-year-old told The Boston Globe he has received more than 5,000 calls and text messages. Fitzgerald said he wanted to “be there,” for anyone who needed to talk. “I never met you, but I do care,” a spiky-haired Fitzgerald said into the camera on his YouTube posting.

Wow. What a great idea. I suppose if he helps cheer some people up it’s worth doing. Although I expect he’ll mostly get people just calling because they can.

Transformers: The Game

From action-figure.com:

At this year’s Hasbro Toyfair walk through, Action-figure.com got an extra little treat. Locked away in a meeting room upstairs awaiting our big round Christmas morning eyes was a demo for Transformers: The Movie video game from Activision! Our hosts explained that recreating the look and feel of these fairly new but familiar robots was important over all. Not only would they recreate each big bot to a T, but shading, intricacy and the gleam on every bumper would be present. This recreation also spills over to the handling of your robot, which in most cases is a tank with feet. Smash your way through the city streets as either Autobot or Decepticon, picking up cars, light posts and other implements of urban destruction to take down your opponent. Much like Hulk: Ultimate destruction, your environment is fully interactive, complete with citizens fleeing in terror and buildings that crumble as you spiral head long into them. With a city allowing you this much space to play in, you’ll want to take your time and fulfill your lifelong Godzilla dreams, but remember, you’ve got a job to do! Transformers: The Movie game sends you on missions that take you through the movie story line and beyond on the side of humanity or plotting their demise. Of course, what’s a Transformers game without the power to transform? Oh yes…there will be rolling out! Flip into vehicle mode and the push of a button to speed through the city streets, beat time challenges or catch up with a Decepticreep who’s terrorizing your favorite Starbucks location. 6 dollars for a Half Caf Mocha with extra cream??!! Megatron will hear of this!!!

One final note. For those of you a little upset that the bots from your childhood have gone under the torch for a redesign, Activision added a little something just for you. Optimus Prime and Megatron will be voiced by none other than Peter Cullen and Frank Welker, the men who voiced the bots in the original cartoon we know and love. Thanks Activision!

The game sounds great, even if it is the new Transformer look from the movie.  I’m excited to have free control over Autobots and Decepticons in a city.

Be sure to check out the “Game Behind the Scenes” video on transformersgame.com to see Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime) and Frank Welker (Megatron) do their voices.  It’s a trip.

Great Photos

Erwin commented on the previous post about the “Flying Dutchman” ride and mentioned he had some photos from that ride and Disneyland Paris at http://www.fotogalerijen.be

I was stunned at some of the beautiful photography. Check out the Disneyland Paris photos from April — especially the Sleeping Beauty castle view with the 15th Anniversary banners,
