Apple offers Ms. Pac-Man for video iPod

nam_070227_mspacman.jpg
MacNN reports:

Namco Networks today released Ms. Pac-Man for the video iPod via the iTunes Store for $4.99. The release marks the 25th anniversary of the classic video game and serves as the companion to the original Pac-Man that launched when iPod games were first released in September of last year. Ms. Pac-Man is the second Namco game produced for the video iPod, challenging players to navigate the character through four different mazes while evading ghosts. Ms. Pac-Man is charged with chomping all of the pellets on the screen to proceed to the next level and specially placed ‘power pellets’ enable players to temporarily gobble up the ghosts to send them back to their start locations. Ms. Pac-Man features 256 maze levels with the ‘coffee break’ animated intervals available in the original coin-op arcade version. The iPod version also features arcade game cabinet art as well as a tutorial level.

Wall E Plot Spoilers from Jim Hill.

From jimhillmedia.com:

By now, you’ve probably seen pictures of “WALL E” ’s title character. Maybe you’ve even caught a glimpse of this film’s unique-looking logo.
But what do you actually know about Pixar’s 2008 release? Very little, I’ll bet. Which is standard operating procedure for this Emeryville-based animation studio. They like keeping the storylines for their upcoming animated features under lock & key for as long as possible.
But “WALL E” went over the wall (so to speak) last week. You see, I had the chance to talk with someone associated with this new Andrew Stanton film who just couldn’t contain themselves. They had to talk about “WALL E.”
Why For? Because this individual believes that Stanton’s next movie is important. That it’s going to be such a step up from the work that Andrew did on “Finding Nemo” that “WALL E” is going to shock people. Both for its choice of source material as well as its style of storytelling.
And the story that this animation insider told me … It’s such a departure for Pixar, such a ballsy choice that one wonders how mainstream audiences are actually going to react to “WALL E.” Will they be able to embrace a message movie that so liberally mixes science fiction & satire?
Be warned, folks. If you don’t want to know anything about the story of Pixar’s Summer 2008 release, now would be a really good time to bail out of JHM. For I’m about to give you the skinny on “WALL E.”

If you keep going you’re in for a treat. This movie has gone from looking and sounding OK to being AMAZING.

I can’t wait for this.

Tram rider hurt trying to save another from falling

ANAHEIM/AP - Two women were injured after falling off a tram in a Disneyland parking lot, officials said.

One woman was standing on a tram in the theme park’s “Timon” parking lot when she tumbled off around 10:20 p.m Friday as it turned, said Maria Sabol, spokeswoman for the Anaheim Fire Department. Another woman tried to grab her but fell, too.

The first woman suffered minor injuries to her head and feet and the second more serious head wounds, Sabol said.

One was discharged but officials didn’t say which.

Disneyland Resort spokesman Bob Tucker said the women were taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, but declined to release their identifies. When asked for updates on their condition Sunday, Tucker declined, citing privacy laws.

The tram, one of many used to shuttle visitors between the parking lot and the park, was going about 5 mph at the time, Tucker said. It was shut down Friday, but appeared to be operating normally and was put into service again Saturday.

How to Be A Time Traveler

From idlewords.com:

When John Titor first showed up on IRC chat in October of 2000, he was enjoying a neat kind of double billing - as his 38-year-old self sat downstairs in the kitchen, typing away, a two-year-old version of himself lay sound asleep upstairs in bed. The elder Titor had been sent back in time by the U.S. Army, which needed him to fetch some legacy computer hardware from the 1970s, and he had a sort of layover in the year 2000. So like anyone with time to kill, he went online.
